Supporting local churches
Local churches know their communities and serve families directly. Grace River strengthens that work through relationship, practical support, and shared Christian mission.

Grace River supports local churches as they care for children and families through food, practical teaching, and sustainable ways to generate income.
Our mission in action
Our mission work in Mozambique is rooted in partnership with local churches. Together, we respond to immediate needs and help people develop practical paths toward greater stability.
This includes feeding people, teaching skills that help families generate income, and supporting poultry projects that provide meat and eggs. The goal is nourishment for children and a sustainable source of food and income.
Suffering and perseverance
Mozambique gained independence in 1975, but a devastating civil war followed from 1977 to 1992. The country has made progress since then, although the benefits have not reached every family equally.
Cyclones, floods, droughts, economic crises, and conflict have destroyed homes, interrupted farming, and deepened food insecurity. Children often carry the greatest burden of hunger and malnutrition.
The people of Mozambique are not defined by poverty. These communities are filled with courage, generosity, creativity, and faith. Our posture is partnership, not pity: we listen to local churches, honor local leadership, and walk alongside families.

Food support helps churches respond to immediate needs and care for children and families with dignity and compassion.
Practical teaching helps people develop small-scale work and local food production that can contribute to household income.
Poultry projects provide eggs and meat for children and offer a renewable way to produce food and generate income.
A message of hope
We believe God sees every child, mother, father, and community. Poverty does not diminish anyone’s worth, and suffering does not have the final word. Every person is made in God’s image and is worthy of love, respect, and hope.
“I was hungry and you gave me food.”Matthew 25:35
Practical help and the message of Jesus belong together. We share food because Christian love must become action. We support local churches because they know their communities and continue walking with families.
To the people of Mozambique: you are seen, valued, and not forgotten. In Jesus Christ there is grace for today and hope for tomorrow.

Local missions · Our community
One community, many stories, one hope: Jesus.
Welcome · Care · Walk together
Many Brazilian immigrants arrive in the United States carrying dreams, courage, and hope for a better life. The journey may also bring homesickness, isolation, language barriers, financial pressure, exhausting work, distance from family, and uncertainty about the future.
Children grow between cultures. Youth seek identity and belonging. Adults carry the responsibility of supporting a household and starting over. Marriages and families may feel the pressure of routine and a limited support network. Older adults may face isolation and communication barriers.
Our community needs God’s presence, the hope found in Jesus, and genuine relationships that remind each person they are not alone.
Grace River’s mission also happens here: welcoming new arrivals, listening to those who suffer, praying with people who have lost hope, strengthening families, and presenting Jesus to every generation.
We want children to grow knowing they are loved by God, valued, and welcomed while learning to live between two cultures.
We walk with young people facing questions about identity, belonging, the future, and faith, pointing them to purpose in Christ.
We offer fellowship and hope to people carrying the pressure of work, responsibilities, finances, and starting over.
We strengthen marriages, parents, and children as they face immigrant life with faith, dialogue, grace, and love.
We honor their stories, value their wisdom, and resist isolation through care, presence, prayer, and fellowship.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28
Near or far, our mission is to serve people, strengthen families, and share the transforming hope of Jesus.
